Sports in Raleigh
We’ve recently been in our sporty era (golfing & watching the Carolina Hurricanes mostly), and there's no better way to enjoy a day or night out than by watching live sports here in Raleigh. We have so many fantastic teams and venues that make every game an exciting experience.
If you're looking for a fun activity, catching a game should be at the top of your list. Here are some of the best sports teams to watch in the Raleigh area:
Durham Bulls
An iconic Minor League Baseball team, the Durham Bulls, offers not just a game but a full experience. From their beautiful stadium to the energetic crowd, every game is a celebration. They also do many themed nights (Stranger Things, Bark in the Park, etc.)

Carolina Mudcats
Located in Zebulon (about 25 min outside of Raleigh), the Carolina Mudcats provide an incredible Minor League Baseball experience. Their family-friendly atmosphere and thrilling games make for a perfect outing. Fun fact: Their stadium is called Five County Stadium because it’s located within 5 miles of five different counties - Wake, Franklin, Nash, Johnston, and Wilson counties.

NC State Wolfpack
NC State's sports teams are a classic to Raleigh's sports culture. Whether it's football, basketball, or baseball, etc. cheering on the Wolfpack is always a great time. As Meredith College graduates and Raleigh natives, this is who we cheer for! ❤️🐺

UNC Tar Heels
A short drive to Chapel Hill gets you to the home of the Tar Heels. With a rich history in collegiate sports, catching a UNC game is a must for any sports fan.

Duke Blue Devils
Duke University in Durham is known for its fierce competition and passionate fans. Whether it's basketball at Cameron Indoor Stadium or another sport, the Blue Devils never disappoint. Even if you’re not a Blue Devils fan, experiencing a basketball game at Cameron is amazing!

For hockey fans, the Carolina Hurricanes bring NHL action to Raleigh. The atmosphere at PNC Arena is electric, and the Canes' games are always thrilling. Plus 2025 is our year right?? We’re getting the Stanley Cup (manifesting it 🤞❤️)!
