29th Annual American Indian Heritage Celebration
Celebrate the rich cultural heritage and traditions of North Carolinaโs American Indian communities at this annual event held at the North Carolina Museum of History. Enjoy a day full of music, dance, storytelling, and traditional crafts presented by members of the stateโs eight recognized tribes. The celebration also features educational presentations, food vendors, and hands-on activities for all ages, offering a unique opportunity to learn about the history and contributions of American Indian cultures. NOTE: While the North Carolina Museum of History is closed for renovation, this year's festival is being held at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Activities will take place on the Bicentennial Plaza and inside the museum.

The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration, located in the heart of Midtown Raleigh, is a beloved holiday event. Holiday Gala with The Raleigh Girls Club
How often to we get to dress up fancy and go to a Gala??? Not often enough.
Making friends is hard, we can help! Join The Raleigh Girls Club for our November event, featuring ornament decorating, friendship bracelets, vendors, gingerbread house kits and cookies, speed friending, mocktails and specialty cocktails with On My Way Bartending (for attendee purchase at event), great conversation, food for purchase at Rocky Top, fun decor and so much more.
The Speed friending activity can be scheduled upon arrival at the event. There will be limited time slots available so this will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Speed friending will start sharply at 6pm and end around 7pm.

Annual Raleigh Turkey Trot
Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving festivities with the Raleigh Turkey Trot! Join the community for this fun and festive run through the scenic streets of Raleigh, welcoming participants of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're a serious runner aiming for a personal best or just looking for a leisurely jog with family and friends, this event is a great way to start the holiday with some healthy activity. The race features a 8K course, festive costumes, and post-race refreshments. Come dressed in your favorite turkey-themed attire and make it a Thanksgiving tradition!

Shop Small Mall is a huge festival hosted by Triangle Pop Up and this year it will be held at the NC State Fairgrounds. This two-day event is happening on Small Business Saturday weekend and with over 100 local artists and makers, it's the perfect place to start your holiday shopping! Celebrate the fall holidays with a free "MonsterMash" along Hillsborough Street!

HSCSC will have both traditional candy stations along the central zone of Hillsborough Street (anywhere between Logan Ct and Pogue St) and a trunk or treat zone filled with candy and other assorted goodies. More info to come soon.

The full trick-or-treat event will run from 2-5pm on Sunday, Oct. 20th.

Kids Expo 2024
A day for families to discover what Raleigh has to offer! From local businesses to health care professionals and everything in between! The Flat drum food truck will be in attendance. HOWL-O-Ween
All ghoulish guardians are invited to unleash your haunted hounds for the first HOWL-O-Ween event at Carolina Pines Community Center Dog Park! Pups will strut their stuff and wag their tails in our pet parade along with a PAW-some costume contest. Other activities will include tricks for treats, bone bobbing, and HOWL-worthy pictures in a PUP-kin photo booth. Categories will include spookiest, cutest, most creative, and best doggie/owner duo.
Vendors, merchants, and sponsors will be on site for questions; while treat bags with goodies and coupons are on a first come, first serve basis; pre-registered BARK-ticipants are guaranteed their cut of the loot.
Thereโre no BONES about it, this event is sure to be a BONE-ified fun time.

2024 N.C. State Fair
The North Carolina State Fair's mission is to showcase and promote the state's agriculture, agribusiness, arts, crafts and culture through the annual agricultural fair. The Fair offers the agricultural community a venue to showcase its crops, livestock and new technology. The Fair is also an opportunity for the state's ever-increasing urban population to learn about agriculture through educational and competitive exhibits in the areas of livestock, horticulture, cooking, folk art and much more. More than $700,000 in prize money is awarded each year.

Thursday, Oct. 17 - $8 Student Admission for NC State Students. Students at NC State get admission for just $8 by showing their NC State Student ID card at the gate! This offer is only available at the gate on Thursday, Oct.17 and is valid only for students.
Sunday, Oct 20 - accessABILITY Day presented by Bandwidth.
Running from 9 a.m. โ 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, visitors can expect the following on accessABILITY Day:
Rides and games will open at 9 a.m. and will operate with no lights or music playing.
Vendors will operate with no lights or music at their booths.
Music stages will only play acoustic sets with light amplification.
The public address system will only be used for lost visitor announcements.
Activities on accessABILITY Day include:
A โBandwidth Chill Out Zoneโ will be available to guests in the Graham Building with tables/chairs, low lighting and soft music playing for those who need to take a break from the busy atmosphere outside (9a.m. - 5 p.m.).
Guests can compete in specially designed inclusive and/or adaptive โon the spotโ competitions (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.).
Noise cancelling headphones will be available to check out in the โBandwidth Chill Out Zoneโ for those who need them (9a.m. - 5 p.m.).
Tuesday, Oct 22 - Senior Citizensโ Day. On Tuesday, Oct. 22, seniors ages 65+ get free admission to the Fair! Beginning at 9 a.m., while supplies last, Bojangles' biscuits and coffee will be served on the Dorton Patio near the Waterfall at the Senior Fun Fest. A program with Commissioner Steve Troxler and music will kick-off at 10 a.m.
Accessible parking is available on a first come, first served basis outside Gate 10. Access the parking lot via Trinity Road. Overflow parking and overflow handicap parking will be available at Carter Finley Stadium (Gate A). Trams will be available to move fairgoers from the parking lot to Dorton Arena. Buses may drop off passengers at Gate 1, the closest gate to all the activities in Dorton Arena and then move to Carter-Finley Stadium for parking.
Wednesday, Oct 23 - Military Appreciation Day. The N.C. State Fair will pay tribute to members of the U.S. Military for their service to the country on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Join us for a parade through the grounds at 10 a.m. Starting in the carnival midway, the parade will make its way through Kiddieland, past the Scott Building and back through the carnival midway.
Thursday, Oct 24 - Smithfield Foods Hunger Relief Day. Fairgoers can bring six cans of food to the fair gates to exchange for free admission.

Get ready to transform into your most whimsical self with our Free Spirited Artistry Face Painter and Fairy Hair Artist. Whether youโre after a splash of color on your cheeks or some glittery magic in your hair, youโll walk away feeling festive and fabulous!
Our roving performers from Imagine Circus will be adding even more wonder to the event. Look out for our stilt walker and hoop jam performer as they dazzle and entertain all over the park. Plus, donโt miss the hands-on Percussion Petting Zoo, where you can drum up your own rhythm with over 100 percussion instruments after catching an amazing musical performance by Steve Gryb!

Triangle Oktoberfest
Bring Your Friends & Family to the Biggest & Most Authentic Oktoberfest in the Raleigh-Triangle Area.
In keeping with the โService Above Selfโ mission, the Apex Sunrise and Cary MacGregor Rotary Clubs have again partnered together in collaboration with the Town of Cary to host the 10th Annual Triangle Oktoberfest at Caryโs Booth Amphitheatre. We have created the largest and most authentic German festival in NC to celebrate German culture in the Triangle and to support charitable organizations here in our community and abroad.
Live entertainment will again showcase the King Guys Oktoberfest Brass Band with a great mix of traditional German songs and fun crowd favorites, the largest and most exciting Wiener Dog Races in NC with an added race on Friday, a kid friendly (and parent approved) Kinder Platz with inflatables and face painting, MassKrugstemmen for a chance to qualify for the 2nd Annual Stein Hoist Championships, SchlagenHammer (Hammer-Striking) competitions, the always crowd pleasing Miss and Mr. Oktoberfest contest, the AutoBahn to showcase German precision engineering, and a German Meetup Spot hosted by the Sisters City Association of Cary.
