GLOW - Downtown Cary Park
Academy Street Artwork Projects (ASAP) presents GLOW, a temporary outdoor display of technology and light art installations on view in downtown Cary. They are pop-up temporary installations with no corresponding event, on view primarily evening hours for one week, two weeks, or a month at a time. GLOW is designed with the intent to surprise and delight viewers when the artworks are discovered. Picture: rooftops, windows, open lawns, and on the sides of buildings…around every corner is a possible discovery and surprise. GLOW will create a dynamic sense of place that adds energy to the street environment, creating memories and moments of celebration for all who encounter each work of art.

First Friday Raleigh

Valentine's Card Drive for WakeMed Children's Hospital
It's that time of year again! Makayla is launching her 3rd annual Valentine's card drive for WakeMed Children's Hospital!
They will be hosting a card crafting night for First Friday. Join them in the gallery for an art filled evening of card making! Craft supplies will be provided.
If you are unable to attend and would still like to contribute cards. They will be accepting card donations now through February 7th.

March Madness
The NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, also known as March Madness, is the annual Division I Men’s Basketball tournament that began in 1939. Composed of 68 men’s college basketball teams across the U.S., the highly-anticipated competition determines the National Champion through a series of single-elimination games over three weeks. The tournament format follows four regional brackets with teams ranked from one to 16, plus an additional eight teams competing to claim the last four main bracket slots during the First Four Games. For the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, the First Four games start on March 18 and 19, followed by the First and Second Rounds between March 20 and 23, Sweet Sixteen on March 27 and 28 and Elite Eight on March 29 and 30. For the fifth time, the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas will host the Final Four and National Championship games, on April 5 and 7 respectively.

Brewgaloo 2025
The largest NC Craft beer festival celebrating all things local! You’ve tasted the world, now taste local!

Krispy Kreme Challenge
What is the Krispy Kreme Challenge?
2400 calories, 12 doughnuts, 5 miles, 1 hour. The mantra of the Krispy Kreme Challenge epitomizes the test of physical fitness and gastrointestinal fortitude. What started as a challenge among ten friends has transformed into a nationally publicized charity race, and the number one tradition to complete before graduating from North Carolina State University.
On February 5th, 2024, they hosted the 20th Annual Krispy Kreme Challenge, raising over $100,000 for the UNC Children’s Hospital, bringing our total donations to over $2.2 million. The Krispy Kreme Challenge is UNC Children’s Hospital’s largest unrestricted donor.
Participants begin the Challenge at the Memorial Belltower on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Runners then travel 2.5 miles through historic downtown Raleigh to the Krispy Kreme located at the intersection of Peace and Person Streets, where they attempt to consume one dozen original glazed doughnuts. The hardest part of the Challenge awaits them as they run 2.5 miles back to the Memorial Belltower.

National Day of Racial Healing Community Dialogue
The National Day of Racial Healing is annual observance hosted by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) created with and builds on the work and learnings of the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) community partners. Fundamental to this day is a clear understanding that racial healing is at the core of racial equity. This official day is observed every year on the Tuesday following Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Together with The Encouraging Place, Triangle MLK Committee, Raleigh Chamber, Wake County and Wake Together, the YMCA will co-host a local interactive gathering, open to the community, for the Kellogg Foundation’s National Day of Racial Healing. The event is sponsored by Wells Fargo.
The event at First Baptist Church is an opportunity to gather people to share dialogue and inspire action for a more equitable and just world.
The morning will feature continental breakfast, a keynote speaker and small group breakout sessions. Doors open and breakfast is available starting at 8 a.m. with the program beginning at 9 a.m.

WRAL First Night Raleigh
